Petition

We, the undersigned implore Northamptonshire County Council to reconsider their proposal to close Brackley and 28 other libraries in the county.

Background information

Brackley Library is a designated Children’s Centre providing important support for children and families.
Brackley is a fast growing town but as we are stuck at the edge of the county we feel that we are often overlooked with regards to public services. If the library were to close then people would have to travel 12 miles to the smaller town of Towcester in order to borrow books, DVDs, to use the internet, to apply for bus passes, to apply for Blue badges and many of the other services that Brackley Library currently provides. The bus service to Towcester is infrequent, expensive and doesn’t even run on a Sunday.
Libraries have been serving local people for many decades; once they close they will never reopen so please keep OUR libraries open!
